LORI CERAMIC LIGHT COLLECTION
In different lighting environments
IDEATION
Draw inspiration from nature's textures—mushrooms, corals, and the curves of leaves. Through iterative development, I drew inspiration from the fluidity and elegance of water forms.
LIGHT EXPLORATION
Using air-dry clay to replicate the texture of ceramic allowed me to explore how light interacts with the material, and create a unique relationship between form, shadow, and illumination.
CLAY STUDY
Transitioning into ceramic with slump molds and casting plaster molds for slip casting, shaping delicate ceramic shells with more refined details.
FINAL PROTOTYPE
Crafting the pendant light from ceramic posed challenges, given the material's characteristics and the scale of the piece. Working with 3D printed mold, I successfully achieved a close match to the envisioned form.
LIGHT INSTALLATION
Integrated 12V LED technology and wire rope to bring the design to life, adding a functional and illuminating element to the pendant light.
